Canada joins the Apostille Convention

Announced on May 16, Canada's accession to the Apostille Convention will streamline and ease the process for both individuals and businesses to have their Canadian documents recognized in over 120 treaty-member countries. The Convention is set to take effect on January 11, 2024. Until that date, the existing procedure for authenticating Canadian documents will remain in place. More information will be provided prior to the Convention's implementation in January 2024.
